EMC requirements

• Standards exist to mirror the requirements set by governing

bodies in a country or region. The essential requirement of any

EMC directive is that systems/products should be constructed in

such a way that:

o the electromagnetic disturbance it generates does not exceed a level

allowing radio and communication equipment and other devices to

operate as intended, and

o the product has an adequate level of intrinsic immunity to

electromagnetic disturbance so that it is immune from electromagnetic

disturbance from other sources in its environment.
