Network Theory And Filter Design by Vasudev K.Aatre (Author)

An attempt has been made to include two aspects of network theory, analysis and synthesis under a single cover. Basics of network theory - formulation and solution of network equilibrium equations, network theorems and natural frequencies, multi-terminal networks, state models - are all discussed.

Essentials of approximation and passive network synthesis are presented as a prelude to filter design. A comprehensive introduction to active filter design with single and multi-amplifier is also provided. Higher order filter design based on simulated ladder methods is also introduced.

This book is intended for use as a text for undergraduate courses in network analysis and fundamentals of passive and active filter design for a two-semester course or a one-semester course for postgraduate courses. About The Author: Dr. V.K. Aatre was born in Bangalore, India. He received his B.E. from the University of Mysore, M.E. from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, all in Electrical Engineering in 1961, 1963 and 1967 respectively. From 1967 to 1968, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Waterloo.

He joined the Technical University of Nova Scotia in 1968 and in 1980 he returned to India. In 1977 he was a visiting professor at the Indian Institute of Science. In 1980 he joined Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory, Cochin, where he is presently the Director of the Laboratory. Table Of Contents: Introduction Network Topology Network Equations
